King Academy offers a wide range of extra-curricular sports for students to compete in at both the junior and senior high level. In order to compete on these teams, student-athletes are required to sign the student athlete contract. Failure to abide by the terms of this contract will result in the student forfeiting their eligibility to play on any school-based teams.
What are academic requirements to remain on a school team?
o Step 1: No outstanding assignments/assessments due. You do not attend any practices until overdue assignments are completed to an acceptable level and submitted.
o Step 2: Must be passing 50% of your core courses and maintaining an overall average of 60%. Core courses include:
§ English
§ Math
§ Science
§ Social Studies
What is meant by attend on a regular basis?
o Must not have five (5) or more unexcused absences in a month.
§ Failure to do so will result in the student being suspended from the team for the following month until attendance improves.
o During the week of a tournament/trip, no student should be absent without reason.
§ Any unexcused absence during this week will result in the student not being eligible to attend/compete.
